Meet the Vikettes

Allow yourself to be introduced to the 2011/12 Vikes women! We know how to have fun, but we also know how to run seriously fast. Our team thrives on nicknames, having fun and running fast. Feel free to read the following bios and you will understand.

Alicia "Cap'n A" Roske
Alicia has been our team captain for 3 years and has shared in everyone's ups and downs. She's our loudest cheerleader by far…and loses her voice after major competitions. She will one day control the business world to such an extent that it will be known as the BIZNAZZ world.

Brittany "Bee Bop" Therrien
Brittany has been with the Vikes for three years after a short hiatus in the land of the French. She is an English genius, speaks more languages than you, and she could be your lawyer in the near future. She hates the wilderness and loves coffee, cats and colouring with Geoff.

Courtney "Rook" Roskelley
This recent blonde to brunette convert is a rookie star on team after many years at Oak Bay - therefore she is a seasoned pro at "ASSASSINS." She knows how to work with society. Why? Because she's studying sociology.

Deirdre "Durp Anne" Moran
Dee provides the team with countless lectures and life lessons. She can build a bridge with her bare hands and bursting biceps, these puppies are sick! She could own you on any slope - skiing or running. Who? Durp.

Ellen "ELLEN! ELLEN! ELLEN…Steve?!" Pennock

Grace "Grasshopper" Annear
Gracie is still learning how to spit while running without hitting her teammates. She can write like Shakespeare and has probably read more books than are shelved at the UVic library. Join the team and you're guaranteed to be interviewed by Grace.

Halley "Yellah" Cote
Yes you're right, "Yellah" is in fact "Halley" backwards…which is genius! This Stelly's grad is a rookie on the UVic team and runs a wicked 800m. She's often found wearing her sister's clothing.

Jenica "I want some" Moore
Jenica has the longest legs on the Vikes women's team. She loves kids and will one day make the sweetest elementary school teacher ever. She is always positive and drives a minivan like its her business.

Jenna "Quick Feet" Van Vliet
Jenna likes to race in only one shoe, but can still bring it as if there were two. You can go to Jenna if you need help with your manners or math. She is sweeter than Kenny's apple pie.

Kate "Sweet Pea" Dixon
This cute lil' vegetarian smarty pants can rap like a Mofo. Kate kills the 3k and pulls off short hair as well as she raps. Eminem's got nothin' on Kate.

Katelyn "Blue Raspberries" Currie
Katelyn is always laughing and up for a chat. This speedy 800m runner is also very caring and will one day make a great nurse. This girl knows her bulk product codes - you won't be able to sneak sour jujubes through her till.

Kendra "Kenny" Pomfret
Kenny Spenny Pom Pom: never a dull moment. She is a speed queen who lives for the track. Some of her claims to fame include: pogo-stick abilities, lighting kitchen fires, and burping the alphabet. And she also makes a mean apple pie.

Laura "Rockstar" Mitic
Laura Mitic…shit she's wit it. This girl can play more instruments than you know exist and sing like it's her job…oh wait, it is. Ch-ch-check it out! http://www.myspace.com/carmanahband (hooray! Free advertising!) In her spare time, she runs.

Maureen "The Ginge" McCulligh
Maureen's hair is red. Not to be mistaken with it's close colour relative, orange. This girl is still sane, even though she lives with four track boys and a side garden. She's always up for anything and is the chillest chick in da coop.

Rachel "Swagger" Francois
Rachel brings diversity to our team. Can I get a "whoop whoop!!" Her tone of skin allows her to run even faster, whilst still having mad amounts of swagger in her stride. Rachel has good taste in music and you want to be her friend.

Riley "Lulu" McQueen
Lulu Lemon should be paying Riley for making their clothes look so good. Riley in jeans is a rare…but sexy sight. She is going to be an awesome teacher and is currently employed at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Shauna "Pretty in Pink" McInnis
Shauna always looks good whether she's ripping it up on the track or strutting her stuff through campus. Fun Fact: she does not like green peppers. (Karl, please note). Shauna is so committed to this team that she makes an epic journey daily all the way from Brentwood Bay. Where is Brentwood Bay? We don't know.

Steph "Kicker" Trenholm
Steph can outkick yo' Momma. With her faithful sidekick, Zoey the cat, Steph hunts down evil arachnids. She likes red things, hates gluten and dairy and enjoys skyping with a certain eastern fellow. She keeps it clean…and keeps it real.
